Dr. Shane Smith

Dr. Shane Smith was born in Champaign, IL and moved to Naples, FL at the
age of eleven. He attended Naples High School where he lettered in both Varsity
Basketball, and Football. He gained his passion for rehabilitation through
competitive sports while viewing fellow teammates going through their own
rehabilitation struggles to get back to competitive sports successfully. Witnessing
the struggles of his fellow teammates drove him to find better rehabilitation
protocols to allow for faster rehabilitation results. Dr. Smith pursued his
undergraduate education at the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor
of Science with a major in Food Science and Human Nutrition. He then continued on
to the University of St. Augustine for Health Science where he achieved his
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Dr. Smith received advanced training in the
area of manual therapy while at the University of St. Augustine. He focuses on
disorders/ injuries affecting the feet/ankles, knees, shoulders and spine.
After graduating from the University of St. Augustine, Dr. Smith began
treating patients in Naples, FL. For the last four years he has focused on orthopedic
and neurological disorders in an outpatient physical therapy setting. As well, he has
been a Clinical Instructor for student Physical Therapists for the last 2 years. Dr.
Smith is the owner of Naples Premier Physical Therapy, and is working out of Body
Crafters Private Fitness Studio. He also is the Director of physical therapy at
Countryside Golf and Country Club.
